Autism Care with Carra grew out of love. Supporting my nonverbal niece showed me how much families need care that is patient, individualized, and grounded in real understanding. Every child deserves to feel safe, seen, and capable, and every family deserves a guide who has been there.

Carra Dixon, Founder
The CARE Method

A simple framework for the hard moments.

Behavior is communication. The CARE Method helps you respond to what your child is really telling you, before correcting what you see.

C

Connect Before Correct

Connection creates emotional safety. Children learn best when they feel safe and supported, through a calm tone, patience, and your steady presence.

A

Assess the Need

Every behavior has a reason. Sensory overload, fatigue, or trouble communicating often sit underneath. Understanding the cause is how you find the right support.

R

Regulate the Nervous System

A dysregulated nervous system cannot learn. We lower the demands and the sensory load first, so calm can return before any teaching or correcting begins.

E

Empower Through Structure

Structure creates predictability, and predictability creates safety. Visual schedules and steady routines build independence and confidence over time.

How we work together

Built around your child, and your whole family.

Meet Carra

Hi, I am Carra.

My work is personal. It began with my nonverbal niece and grew into a calling to bring compassionate, individualized care to the autism community.

What makes my approach different is that it is holistic. I do not only support the child, I support the whole family system around them. My background includes training as a Registered Behavior Technician, work as a Special Education Aide, and Early Childhood Education studies focused on children with special needs. I have also been a toddler teacher, nanny, and caregiver, which gave me a heartfelt understanding of how children grow, feel, and connect.

I provide coaching, education, in-home support, and respite, not clinical ABA therapy. Through Autism Care with Carra, I bridge understanding, share hands-on strategies, and guide families and educators with warmth, patience, and purpose.
